A Parents’ Guide To Children’s Mental Health

There are few things in life more nerve-wracking than worrying about your child and her health. In most situations parents wrestle with dozens of questions and struggle to find the answers; this is particularly true when a child is experiencing mental illness.

This is where 1 in 5 Minds can help. Our team of dedicated advocates, supported by the children’s mental health experts at Clarity Child Guidance Center, set out to provide valuable information that can help answer parents’ questions.

We are proud to introduce Children’s Mental Health: A Guide for Parents, a free handbook full of information specifically designed to help parents understand their child’s mental illness and support them as they accompany their child through the journey toward mental health.

Even if your child has not been diagnosed with an illness, but you are concerned about their behavior, this guide will provide valuable insight and advice.

Children’s Mental Health: A Guide for Parents includes information about:

  • the signs and symptoms of mental illness
  • how to know if your child is using illegal drugs
  • locating a mental healthcare provider
  • the types of care available
  • what to do if a child is in crisis
  • how to get help from a child’s school, other family members, and friends
  • and much, much
