Conversations with Clarity on Kid’s Anxiety from COVID-19

Dr. Joshua Essery, the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center, hosts a discussion on the impact COVID-19 has had on children’s mental health and anxiety with professionals from across San Antonio.

  • Clarity Child Guidance Center is the only nonprofit mental health treatment center for kids ages 3 to 17 in South Texas. Our staff of children’s mental health professionals is the largest in the region. When a child is in crisis, we work with families to get much needed treatment regardless of their ability to pay.

  • Joshua Essery, PsyD, ABPP is the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center, the only nonprofit children’s mental health treatment facility for kids ages 3 to 17 in South Texas.

  • Dr. Herrera is a postdoctoral fellow at Clarity Child Guidance Center. She completed her psychology residency at UTHSCSA and received her doctorate from Azusa Pacific University. She is a California native where she worked with children, adolescents, families, and individual adults in both English and Spanish. Her research interests are in global psychology, trauma, spirituality, and consultation. While in graduate school, she was able to combine these interests and provide trauma-informed training to mental health providers in the Philippines.
