Understanding your child’s emotions

Do you feel you have the tools to respond to your child’s wanted or unwanted feelings and emotions like anger, crying or fears? For parents, understanding and responding to your kid’s emotions can be a challenge.

In this video, Dr. Joshua Essery, Director of Psychological Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center, discusses how to navigate your child’s feelings and emotions as a parent and helps answer questions like:

  • What kid’s unwanted emotions look like?
  • What should parents try to avoid doing?
  • What’s behind the child’s emotions?
  • How can parents respond in a helpful way?
