Optimizing the Helping Relationship at Every Stage of Change

Adverse childhood events lead to decreased wellness in adults. During this Clarity Child Guidance Center community presentation, mental health professionals learn how to help clients overcome this reality and more effectively and compassionately help themselves, clients and others. Shawn Owens, MSN RN, and Vice President of Nursing Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center, provided this information during her presentation entitled ‘Optimizing the Helping Relationship at Every Stage of Change.’

This 6-part series provides practical tips on how to implement and facilitate positive change for better outcomes in all therapeutic settings, and demonstrates how to:

  • Make a more powerful impact with trauma-informed care.
  • Utilize the change model.
  • Understand therapeutic lifestyle elements for both heart and mental health.

Clarity Child Guidance Center hosted this community presentation on August 30, 2013.
