Child and Adolescent Depression

Learn how to help children and adolescents with depression. For this 2-part series, Jeffrey Grimes, PhD, Clarity Child Guidance Center clinical psychologist, provides an overview of:

  • how depression impacts kids differently than adults,
  • dual diagnoses,
  • different depression experiences,
  • anaclitic vs. introjective depressive states, and
  • treatment considerations.

This recording is from a community presentation Clarity Child Guidance Center hosted on December 11, 2009.

  • Clarity Child Guidance Center is the only nonprofit mental health treatment center for kids ages 3 to 17 in South Texas. Our staff of children’s mental health professionals is the largest in the region. When a child is in crisis, we work with families to get much needed treatment regardless of their ability to pay.
