Upholding the Wellbeing of Transgender Individuals: Maintaining Inclusive Health Care Settings

Sofia Sepulveda is a first generation, Mexican-American Trans Latina healthcare organizer.  A member of the Board of Transgender Education Network of Texas, she is also the co-lead organizer of the Medicare for All March in San Antonio and the Million Women’s March in Washington DC and San Antonio.  She also is co-founder of Trans-Power San Antonio. A supporter of Medicare for All, Sofia has spoken at panels to make sure that people in Texas continue the fight for healthcare—creating different avenues while expanding the Indigent Healthcare Program, Medicaid Expansion, and Medicare for All educational workshops.  San Antonio Current named her “San Antonio’s Progressive Wonder Woman” and one of “25 Influential Women Who Absolutely Run San Antonio.”
