Transgender and Gender Expansive Homeless Youth

Jordan Elliott, PhD, LPC, LCDC, NCC, graduated with her doctorate in counselor education and supervision in May 2022 from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She is a licensed professional counselor, licensed chemical dependency counselor, and national certified counselor. She counsels young adults from the LGBTQ+ community who are experiencing homelessness as well as individuals experiencing substance use disorders, trauma, grief, depression, and other co-occurring symptoms.   Elliott has presented nationally and locally on moral distress, substance use and trauma, institutionalized retraumatization, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs, and counseling ethics. Her research includes moral distress in professional counseling and counselor education, counseling sex trafficking survivors, substance use and retraumatization, and intimate partner homicide.
