Body Image, Not Just a Change of Mind: Understanding the Biopsychosocial Factors Contributing to Body Image and Self-Esteem Challenges in Youth
Andrea Tristan, M.Ed., LPC-S, CCTP, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Andrea has a Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas. She has worked in various counseling settings including a youth homeless shelter, mental health residential treatment center, community outreach programs, and outpatient clinics.
Andrea is currently a Clinician Supervisor in Clarity’s Outpatient Department, providing therapy to youth and families, as well as providing supervision to newer clinicians. She is passionate about working with youth in a variety of areas especially trauma and helping young people understand and work through the various historic, systemic, and pervasive factors that contribute to body image and self-esteem challenges.
