Mental Health Triage: Parents on the Front Lines

Melissa Deuter, MD/Medical Director of Sigma Mental Health Urgent Care, leads a session on how educators and mental health professionals work with families to define their role in support of monitoring of children’s mental health. This includes how to teach families to serve in this vital liaison role.

The learning objectives for this 6-part video series include:

  • Instruct mental health professionals in developing a concise curriculum for reeducating and preparing parents and families to support and monitor their children’s mental health.
  • Review the relevant stages of psychological development in lay terms as a tool for educating parents in normal developmental support.
  • Review and aid professionals in educating families on when to get help and what constitutes a mental health crisis.
