Michael earned is Bachelor of Arts at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he studied Medicine, Health, and Society. 

Prior to entering nursing, Michel was a 6th grade English-Language Arts teacher in Dallas, Texas, earning Teacher of the Year at his middle school campus in 2015-2016. He went on to earn his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, and holds his certification as a PMHNP with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. 

He also is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, discussing all things television, and collecting vinyl.
