Reem Eissa, Ph.D. obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy. She then completed her pre-doctoral internship at UT Health San Antonio in the Department of Psychiatry where she trained in the Child, Adolescent, and Family track before completing a post-doctoral fellowship at Clarity Child Guidance Center, where she provided outpatient treatment to children, adolescents, and their families. She is currently a staff and supervising psychologist at Clarity Child Guidance Center. Dr. Eissa’s clinical interests include play therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and providing access to psychoeducation for parents of young children in the San Antonio community. She is also active in teaching activities, particularly focused on making psychoanalytic concepts and psychodynamic theory more accessible to graduate students in psychology. As a bilingual psychologist Dr. Eissa is passionate about advocating for the mental health needs of immigrants and refugees with Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African (AMENA) descent.

During those years, she was able to travel and studied various medical specialties while affiliated with Tulane Medical School and Maimonides Medical Center . She followed up with an internship at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.
Dr. Machinena completed her residency at Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, OH and became Board Certified in Family Medicine. She worked there briefly before moving back to San Antonio. She is a member of the American Medical Association and American Academy of Family Physicians.
She has worked for over a decade in San Antonio providing primary care needs to those most vulnerable. Dr. Machinena takes an interest in educating adolescents about the different ways they can take control of their health at a young age.

He completed General Psychiatry Residency as well as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency at UT Health SA™ in 2002. Dr. Matthews joined the faculty in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in 2002 and was Medical Director of Outpatient Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center from 2007 till 2012. From 2012 to 2017 he served as the Associate Dean of Student Affairs for the School of Medicine and was the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Associate Training Director. He returned to full-time clinical work and in May 2018 returned to serve again as Medical Director of Outpatient Services at Clarity Child Guidance Center.
