Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD): Developing Treatment Strategies

We are sad to note that Dr. Fisher passed away due to a sudden illness on May 11, 2015. We sincerely appreciate the time he took to share his knowledge with us and his legacy of care for children. A memorial website for Dr. Fisher can be viewed here.

Irritability is one of the most common symptoms of psychiatric disorder in youth, and disruptive irritability with explosive outbursts can be a sign of severe mental illness. Join our speaker, Larry Fisher, PhD, ABPN, for a closer look at Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) and the distinction between DMDD and Bipolar Disorder.

During this 5-part video presentation, viewers will learn to:

  • Understand the criteria for DMDD and compare it to Bipolar Disorder.
  • Describe the onset and course of DMDD and discuss the likely neuropathology.
  • Review the treatment options, the research basis for treatment, and the risks and benefits.

Clarity Child Guidance Center hosted this community presentation on February 27, 2015.
